In 2011, our company acquired Qingdao HuaYuan Fine Bio-products Co. LTD from Novozymes manufacturing hyaluronic acid to vertically integrate the company’s value chain. The facility went operational in 2005 with a new and dedicated facility in Qingdao using the latest technology for production of HA that comprises of medical, cosmetic & food grade. HuaYuan was also the first company in China to produce HA by microbial fermentation back in 1993. Our latest investment in HuaYuan is very important for us to continue building a strong platform in the area of biopolymers.
